The Foodservice Equipment Technician plays a key role in Global's organizational structure. They are typically the Company's first, most direct, and most frequent source of contact between the Company and its Customers. Our Field Technicians are responsible for providing prompt, reliable, and high quality service in response to requests for repair, installation and/or maintenance service to enable us to achieve our objectives to add value and build effective relationships with our Customers.
A Global Equipment Sales & Service, Inc. Foodservice Equipment Technician associate provides installation, maintenance and repair services on all types of Foodservice Equipment within an assigned territory or region to ensure continuity of Customer operations and high levels of Customer satisfaction. In this role, you will have ownership of Customer problems or incidents until the situation has been resolved to the Customer's satisfaction and/or in compliance with agreed upon Service Level Agreements.
To be considered for this position, you must have ONE of the following:
- CFESA Certification in at least two of the following: Electric-Gas-Steam, Refrigeration, and Installation
- Two year degree in an electrical and or mechanical machinery field
- High school diploma or GED and at least two years of hands-on equipment repair experience in a customer field environment
- Previous Military experience in an electronic on machinery related field
In addition to these requirements, you:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver's license with clean record over past three years
- Must pass comprehensive background check including credit check, criminal, driving record, and drug screen
- Must have the ability to carry and lift tools and parts of varying weights (up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call duty
- The ability to work independently with little supervision
- The ability to manage service calls that require more time than anticipated without becoming frustrated or rushing through a job
- Must possess superb customer service skills and an ability to diagnose and solve problems from non-technical descriptions provided by their Customers
- Must possess the ability to quickly and effectively diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of Foodservice Equipment
- The ability to type and use Microsoft XP, Outlook Express, Word, and Excel
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Customers
- Ownership and possession of high quality tools typically associated with maintenance and repair of industrial equipment
- Possess a willingness to continuously advance knowledge, skills and abilities
- Standing, walking on level, uneven and slippery surfaces
- Sitting squatting, kneeling, bending, and reaching through low and high ranges and into tight spaces
- Lifting and carrying tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Sufficient range of motion of all extremities and spine to work in awkward postures
- Ability to speak and hear audible safety alarms and warnings
- Meet specific vision requirements as needed to adequately perform the responsibilities of the position
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and service a wide range of Foodservice Equipment
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Customers
- Effectively track, manage, and control parts inventory in accordance with established procedures
- Accurately anticipate supply demands to minimize call completion time
- Respond to service and maintenance requests within established time periods on a consistent basis
- Maintain tools and test equipment to ensure they are in service-ready condition
- Perform service in compliance with industry standards and internal KPI's
- Complete paperwork and reports clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner consistent with established requirements
- All other duties as assigned
